Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of the Real Life podcast is set, recorded, and ready to massage your eardrums. On this week&#8217;s show, the guys discussed Chalmers&#8217; extra days in Jasper, getting the weight loss challenge back on track, and whether the team should sign Brendan Saad.
The fellas kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a discussion about Chalmers&#8217; extra days in Jasper after his family decided to stay back to do a little skiing. Seeing as Chalmers played hockey all weekend before his ski adventure, the ol&#8217; body wasn&#8217;t feeling nearly as fresh as he needed it to be. That ski trip also gave Chalmers another dose of reality that his sons will soon start lapping their old man in the world of sports.
Changing gears, the guys checked in on the weight loss challenge with their official weigh-ins for the week. Given that the boys just had a monster weekend at the JPL that was ripe with cocktails and snacks, it&#8217;s almost a miracle that they could stay relatively flat with their totals. Now that the tournament is over, Chalmers and Baggedmilk both talked about the need to lock in and get back on track to win Jay&#8217;s money.
Turning the podcast back to the Oilers, the boys discussed the idea of signing Brendan Saad after he was just bought out by the St. Louis Blues. Saad chose to get bought our and forgo the remaining money on his deal because he didn&#8217;t want St. Louis to send him down to the minors, which creates an interesting opportunity for the Oilers provided they think it&#8217;s a fit. Would you sign Saad knowing that he would add even more depth to the roster, or is he too close to one of our other players that makes it unlikely?
