<p>The Vegas Golden Knights could be without Nic Roy in the coming days after the NHL&#8217;s Department of Player Safety has called for a hearing with the forward.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s due to a vicious cross-check Roy landed to the face of Edmonton Oilers winger Trent Frederic in <a href="https://oilersnation.com/news/the-day-after-8-0-comeback-kids-edmonton-oilers-beat-vegas-golden-knights-game-2">Game 2</a> of the teams second-round series Thursday.</p>

<p>The cross-check in question happened five and a half minutes into the overtime frame when Roy and Frederic were battling for a puck, which popped in the air. As it did, the two turned to face each other, and Roy loaded a cross-check, delivering it square in Frederic&#8217;s face.</p>
<p>Roy was assessed a five-minute major for cross-checking and game misconduct, ending his night. Frederic would return after getting some repairs.</p>

<p>While some called for Oilers winger Viktor Arvidsson to have a hearing of his own for a trip on Golden Knights defenceman Brayden McNabb, sending him crashing hard into the boards and favouring his left arm as he left the game, the league didn&#8217;t feel it was necessary.</p>
<p>Upset after the game, Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy <a href="https://oilersnation.com/news/golden-knights-frustrated-missed-penalty-game-2">slammed the officials</a> for not calling a penalty on the play.</p>
