Edmonton Oilers&#8217; captain Connor McDavid will have two McDonald&#8217;s restaurants temporarily named after him for a week after scoring the <a href="https://oilersnation.com/news/golden-goal-from-connor-mcdavid-propels-canada-over-usa-in-4-nations-face-off-final">winning goal</a> for Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

The two restaurants that underwent this temporary name change of &#8216;McDavid&#8217;s&#8217; are in Edmonton (10375-51st Avenue) and in his hometown of Newmarket, Ontario (1100 Davis Drive). This comes after <a href="https://x.com/McDonaldsCanada/status/1799609462011150559?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1893798688918487411%7Ctwgr%5E08e93174d699fd407712e3494b6bea6ed8aeba21%7Ctwcon%5Es3_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdailyhive.com%2Fvancouver%2Fmcdonalds-renames-locations-mcdavid-goal-canada" target="_blank" rel="noopener">McDonald&#8217;s Canada pledged</a> to change the name of one of their locations should the Oilers captain bring home the Cup.
While he was unable to do so during the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, he did help Canada win the inaugural 4 Nations tournament so McDonald&#8217;s will keep true to their promise. In addition to the cosmetic change, the Newmarket location will also allow customers to be able to get a small order of fries for just $0.97 from February 28 until March 2, a limit of five orders per customer each day.

This isn&#8217;t the first time McDavid has partnered up with McDonald&#8217;s so far this season. <a href="https://oilersnation.com/news/oilers-connor-mcdavid-and-maple-leafs-auston-matthews-star-in-a-new-mcdonalds-commercial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">He and Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews</a> starred in a commercial called &#8216;The Showdown&#8217; which was a modern take on the famous commercials from the &#8217;90s that starred Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Wayne Gretzky, and Mats Sundin.
These were done to help promote their Showdown menu which included two limited time items named in McDavid and Matthews&#8217; honour: the Big Mac-David and the Smoky Quarter Papi. As part of the &#8216;McDavid&#8217;s&#8217; name change, the two McDonald&#8217;s locations will extend their sale of the Big Mac-David burger during the week the restaurant is under a different name.
While things have not gone off to a hot start for McDavid and the Oilers since returning from the 4 Nations, he has once again been one of their most productive players. He is currently second on the team in scoring behind Leon Draisaitl with 74 points (22 goals and 52 assists) in 53 games played.
